"Beads have been a passion of mine ever since I can remember. They can be a tiny painting or a tiny sculpture that you get to WEAR! There is a magnificent history surrounding their value and symbolism as religious prayer objects, currency, status symbols, protective talismans, medicine, and of course, adornment. The desire to have more control over the components that I use in my jewelry is what led me to glass bead making. Glass as a material allows me to play with light and transparency which is critical to making the natural motifs that inspire my art." |
